  • Little Hands
    St. John’s Little Hands ministry donated stuffed animals and assembled goodie bags for child clients of South Suburban Family Shelter.
  • Vestry Meeting Monday, February 15
    The vestry will meet this Monday, February 15, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the church. Materials have been e-mailed; paper copies are available in your vestry folders.

  • Observing Lent
    A variety of resources to assist in your observance of Lent are available in the church. Look for The Observance of a Holy Lent (Lent for Dummies), 2010 Lenten meditations (from ERD), and Daily Collects and Scripture Readings for Lent.

  • Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper
    The annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake supper will be held this Tuesday, February 16, from 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. in the undercroft. Tickets will be sold at the door, but please sign up in advance.

  • Ash Wednesday Services
    Ash Wednesday is February 17. The Holy Eucharist and imposition of ashes will be offered at 6:30 a.m., 9:00 a.m., and 7:00 p.m.

  • Two Lenten Study Opportunities: The Screwtape Letters and Conquering Pharoah
    This year the Wednesday evening Lenten study series will read and discuss C. S. Lewis’ book, The Screwtape Letters. Please acquire your own copy of the book in advance of the class. The first class will be February 24. The Sunday Living Faithfully class is offering a special course during Lent entitled Conquering Pharaoh’s Production-Consumption Society Today. The class begins Sunday, February 21, at 9:00 a.m. in Classroom 4. All are welcome; just drop in.

  • Daughters of the King Meet Saturday, February 20
    The St. John’s chapter of the Daughters of the King will meet in the Guild room on Saturday, February 20, 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. (beginning with a light breakfast). All women are welcome—we’ll save a place for you!

  • Donate Your Extra Mugs
    If you have extra coffee/tea mugs that you are not using, please donate them to St. John’s. All standard size, durable and washable mugs are welcome. Just leave them on the kitchen counter.

  • Yarn Ministry
    Yarn Ministry is open to all parish members and friends. We meet the first Monday of every month at 7 PM in the Guild Room at the church. Our handy work is donated to a number of charities. All levels of experience are welcome. Yarn Ministry is not limited to just knitters, crocheters are also welcome. Please contact Sue O’Brien if you are interested in joining the Yarn Ministry group.
