Supply Priest
We welcome the Rev. Sam Portaro back to St. John’s this Sunday. Before he retired he served as chaplain to Brent House, the Episcopal Campus Ministry at the University of Chicago.

Lent Adult Study Series
This year the Lenten study series is titled “Cloud of Witnesses.” It will explore some of the lesser- known saints that are remembered in the Episcopal Church. Classes begin at 7:00 PM on Wednesday evenings in the church. Next week’s class will be on scientist saints.

Lent Fish Fry – March 31
Save the Date! The St. Barnabas Men’s Fellowship of St. John’s and Holy Family will sponsor their annual Lent Fish Fry on Friday, March 31. Watch for flyers with all the details.

SWIFT Interfaith Speakers Forum comes to Homewood March 19
SWIFT will be hosting a speakers forum titled “You Believe in Angels?: Christian, Muslim, and Jewish Perspectives” from 3:00PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, March 19 at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 1885 Riegel Road, Homewood. Also that weekend, SWIFT co-founder Khalid Mozaffar will present “Islam 101” on Saturday, March 18 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the American Islamic Association, 8860 W. St. Francis Rd, Frankfort. Grande Prairie Singers Times Three
“Hoorah for Handel!” is the next Grande Prairie Singers concert, held at 4 PM, Sunday, March 12, Trinity Lutheran Church, 6850 W 159th St., Tinley Park. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door, and $10 for students with ID. On Sunday, March 26, the Singers will be part of the Southwest Symphony Orchestra's Rodgers & Hammerstein concert at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights (phone 800.838.3006 for tickets). Finally, $5 raffle tickets are available (1st prize, $1,000) from the Singers for the May 21st drawing (winners need not be present).
